SchemaLogic Enterprise Suite
SchemaLogic Enterprise Suite (SES) enables business subject
matter experts and IT professionals to define and manage a
semantic standard. Software, services, and integration technologies
empower companies to capture and manage standard business terminology
and code systems used by information systems across the enterprise.
Through a simple, powerful modeling and collaboration environment
these standards can evolve and expand as they cross over business
and departmental boundaries. Compliance monitoring and change
management ensure that top-level mandates are followed and,
at the same time, departmental, project, and system level needs
are accommodated and made visible.
A semantic standard is a combination of an agreed upon set
of vocabularies and content metadata definitions used to describe
corporate information assets. Examples include product & service
names, personnel roles & responsibilities, department lists,
industry specific classifications and coding schemes and all
associated variances. Content metadata definitions extend this
to include the content field groupings, field names, data types,
default values, and controlled list values used to classify
and describe content.
Without consistency in both the terminology that classifies
content and the metadata fields used to describe content, there
is chaos when implementing multi- department Content Management
Systems, Search Technologies, and other business applications
in the enterprise. SES eliminates this chaos by centralizing
the semantic standard for all business systems in SchemaServer and providing productized integrations with leading products
such as Microsoft
SharePoint 2007, EMC
Documentum Enterprise Content Server,
and FAST ESP to
propagate and manage the standard, highlight compliance issues,
and improve context in search results.
